My beauty empties - April 2014

My beauty empties - April 2014

Hi everyone,
So here is a new edition of my last product empties. As you may already know, I will tell you about the products I've just finished, what I quickly think about them and if I would possibly buy them again. I won't ramble too much, this is just to give you a brief idea of what I have used in the past few weeks. Tell me about your empties in the comment section and if you'd buy them again. Have a good lovely Sunday. It's definitely grey and rainy here.

As you can see, these are only shower lotions. I have bought quite a lot of facial creams and lotions recently but haven't yet finished them. I also finished my Wake Me Up foundation by Rimmel which I had already talked about in a previous 'Beauty Empties' post. I want to buy it again. It's a shame it's not available in France and still not reduced on the ASOS website.

Lemon and star fruit shower gel (Super U, French Supermarket)
Pros: nourishing, very pleasant scent, foams enough, relaxing
Cons: none
Would I buy it again? Yes

La Roche-Posay Lipikar Cleansing Oil
Pros: nourishing, perfect for sensitive skins and very dry skins, soothing effect
Cons: the scent is a bit repulsive, I didn't like it at all
Would I buy it again? No
Tahiti Tiare flower shower cream
Pros: nourishing, foams well, divine scent (I'm addicted to Tiare, it's so summery and perfect)
Cons: none
Would I buy it again? Yes
Dop shower cream with vegetable milk from the Pyrenees
Pros: nourishing, foams well, relaxing scent, soften your skin
Cons: contains benzyl alcohol
Would I buy it again? Probably

Contre : aucun
Le rachèterais-je? Oui

Huile Lavante Lipikar La Roche-Posay

Oat, Yogurt & Honey Facial Mask

Oat, Yogurt & Honey Facial Mask

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 plain unsweetened yogurt (not too rainy)
  • 1 tsp of honey
  • 3 tbs of organic oat bran (I bought a French brand called Grillon d'Or that you can easily find in organic shops like Biocoop)

Basically mix the ingredients all together to obtain a thick paste. I made the mistake of making it too thick and it wasn't easy to apply. Apply this thick oat paste which looks a lot like porridge onto your face and leave it to rest for 10 minutes. This mask will give you a radiant look and a very soft skin and it's filled with excellent properties.

Oat brand, yogurt and honey mask

Yogurt properties:
  • clears acne
  • lightens up your face, gives you a radiant look
  • tightens skin pores
  • anti-ageing
 Oat properties:
  • moisturising
  • helps treat acne, eczema, rosacea and rashes
  • anti-inflammatory

Honey properties:
  • anti-bacterial
  • antiseptic
  • good cleanser
  • anti-ageing
  • moisturising

  • anti-inflammatoire
Propriétés du miel :
  • anti-bactérien
  • antiseptique
  • bon nettoyant
  • anti-vieillissement
  • hydratant

The Body Shop Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter

The Body Shop Sumptuous Cleansing Butter

This cleansing butter belongs to the new range of Camomile products offered by The Body Shop, and it is already a hit. I would like to deeply thank The Body Shop for giving me the opportunity to try this make-up remover, which I adopted straight away. And I have a lot to tell you about it.

Quality

This cleansing butter has a very surprising aspect at first. I had never heard of a butter having a solid aspect that would cleanse and even remove heavy make-up. I asked myself a lot of questions at the beginning. How am I going to apply it? Do you have to put some on a cotton pad first? Can it remove very pigmented make-up and smokey eyes? Well, it removes everything and does it well. My very black and pigmented make-up completely disappeared after rinsing. The texture is very pleasant to apply and doesn't leave the skin on your face oily after rinsing. I apply a moisturising cream once I removed all my make-up. In the morning, my skin doesn't feel tight or tense and isn't dry. I think this is a very interesting and efficient product.

Packaging and presentation
The little silver pot that you can unscrew is very handy to use. It opens and closes very well and the product label is very attractive. I think it is pleasant to use for the above reasons.

Scent
The scent is very light and pleasant, the camomile used is from England. And the product is sourced from Fair Trade. Well done The Body Shop, that's a whole lot of positive aspects and good points for you.

Use
A small amount is enough to remove make-up on your face, even when you go for waterproof make-up. The balm changes into an oil while massaging onto the skin. You can rinse it with a wet towel or a wet sponge. You won't need any cotton pad, but water and a towel all the same. The only downside I would say it that there are no instructions on how to use this cleansing butter. It would have been much better to have instructions, especially when the product is so innovative and doesn't have the aspect of a cleansing water, an oil or a creamy lotion. It would be preferable to remove your contact lenses before removing your make-up to avoid blurry vision likely to bother you. But with or without contact lenses, my eyes didn't burn and weren't itchy at all.

I think my review says it all about this product and the fact that I really like it and that it is excellent on many aspects.
If you're interested in buying it, you will find it in your local Body Shop or on their website, it costs £12: link

The Body Shop Cleansing Butter
Beurre démaquillant sublime Camomille, The Body Shop
